Design mockup of a promotional postcard design.
Advertising comes in many forms and will always be a part of our lives. The key is making our product rise up from the crowd. We accomplish this by knowing the best way to promote a product or service through design and presentation.
There are a variety of options to do this, and it all depends on what the specific project requires. In this example, we’ll be focusing on post cards and posters. While these are for print, the images could be reworked for digital advertisements as well. (Such as banners, square ads, Instagram stories, Facebook posts, and so on.)
Postcards are easy enough to send via snail mail, or be given out at a convention or home show to potential customers. They’re small, portable, and can contain a variety of information.
The postcard above shows what can be done with an image and a bit of text to promote an event or specific place. In this case, one of my own photographs is used to show off one of the beautiful flowers located at the venue and encourages people to visit the area and appreciate the gardens.
We can also emphasize relevant awards and relay information on how to connect on social media with written URLs.
Note: This postcard is only a mockup and not commissioned by Gairloch Gardens. The place is one of my favourite gardens to visit and I love it there, so I wanted to create something on my own to promote it. The place is worth checking out if you’re in the area!
For a poster such as this, it has the potential to be used for multiple projects and advertising materials.
This design could work in a magazine spread, as a large poster to be placed outside a studio, or with additional information added around the figure to advertise classes.
As we know, every project and client is different and has unique requirements for their brand. We will ensure that project requirements and discussed and expectations are clear and met.
